Making a Difference
Making a Difference is a research project investigating the importance of creativity in later life and is specifically looking at playfulness and ageing. It is a collaborative project with researchers based in universities in Australia and UK.
The project was awarded seed funding from OPAN for a research development group, which includes professionals involved with care provision for the elderly, occupational therapists, charities and academics. This project has been successful in gaining funding for a PhD student who is working with Cathy on the project in collaboration with Gwalia Cyf, one of the largest providers of care for the elderly in Wales.
Three participatory workshops took place during the project to explore playfulness, technology and hand use. The author John Killick led a playful funshop for the final event of the series.
